"Event journal actions are not available when cluster version is 3.9 or higher");

Misleading statement, should be "Event journal actions are available when cluster version is 3.9 or higher");

@mmedenjak mmedenjak added this to the 3.9 milestone Aug 25, 2017

Hi, thanks for your report, we will fix that.
Can you describe the scenario in which you ran into this exception? Were you calling the event journal API? Do you have it enabled? Or was it triggered indirectly while using the IMap or ICache API?

I have just noticed that reading the code.

mmedenjak added a commit to mmedenjak/hazelcast that referenced this issue Aug 29, 2017
- fixes some error messages when the cluster does not support event
journal operations due to the cluster version
- the event journal capacity is shared between all partition-specific
ringbuffers. It seems this is more commonly expected and it leads to
a more sensible usage of heap space. Updated documentation to explain
this.

Fixes : hazelcast#11220
