With #320 implemented we have links to Wikidata for 5252 organisations in our data. This is very useful for enhancing the single resource view. We should first think about what information to add and then how to add it. (I am thinking about adding more tabs besides "Standort" and "Postadresse, for example "Bild".)

Bibliothek Witten has a great wikidata entry to get a picture about possible additional information:

Here are some relevant information from the top of my head:

  • image
  • links: Wikipedia, GND (we could link to a search in lobid-resources), Twitter, Facebook
  • wheelchair accessibility, wifi (only 2 resp. 4 items currently have this information)
  • Blog (only 2 items with this information)

Regular feedback to the Wikidata community could help to extend coverage and quality of required fields

Additional information can be added dynamically via JavaScript queried from Wikidata SPARQL Service. See reasonator and SQID for examples. In BARTOC we get the list of Wikipedia articles based on Wikidata URI with this little script, e.g. see

If your backend is SPARQL anyway, you can also try federated SPARQL query with Wikidata but this may harm performance. Maybe map SPARQL result from Wikidata to JSON-LD so it can easier be merged?

I'd start with some low hanging fruits such as Wikipedia articles and additional identifiers (VIAF, GND, ISNI...) as listed in Wikidata. Images are difficult because of licenses.
