Building an open data commons of health facility data with OpenStreetMap

Healthsites is building a global commons of health facility data by making OpenStreetMap useful to the medical community and humanitarian sector. We are inviting organisations to share health facility data and collaborate to establish an accessible global baseline of health facility data in support of Sustainable Development Goal 3.8 Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

The primary stakeholders are national health agencies, donor governments, and citizens accessing health services. All have a significant interest in the quality of the data that drive health systems.

Healthsites community is focused on three key things:

1. Enabling National health agencies and organisations to share and contribute data to OpenStreetMap
2. Enabling collaboration between National health agencies and volunteer communities
3. Connecting multiple data streams to build higher quality data
