automake subdir-objects warning #486
Comments
Sorry, but that fix fails
|
oof I have no idea of hfst-tagger unfortunately, seems odd |
I sedded the makefile but it probably could be simplified. I noticed (from travis-ci) that actually subdir-objects only works on automake-1.16 or newer, quite 🙄 from automake developers to deprecate functionality that is so new tbh... perhaps running these make checks isn't so important that users of outdated versions can do without though |
Curious that this failed on Travis' Bionic and still fails on Github's Bionic, because it works just fine on the nightly build's old distros with automake 1.15, including Xenial. |
yeah I really thought subdir-objects had been workign just fine for years by now, though it seems from their release notes that 1.16 fixed a lot of corner cases. https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/automake.git/tree/NEWS#n167 it seems that github is also moving ubuntu-latest to 20.04 or something any day now so we wont have to wait too long to get builds back... |
This has been happening for ages, but nobody filed an issue for it:
