\title{Goal-Oriented $hp$-Adaptive DGFEM for the Time-Dependent Maxwell Problem} \tocauthor{M. We partition the time axis in intervals $I^k=(t_{k-1},t_k]$. For each time interval we allow for a different (possibly anisotropically) refined spatial mesh $\mathcal{T}^k$, consisting of hexahedra. Within each time interval $I^k$ a Galerkin method \cite{akrivis2010galerkin} is employed for temporal discretization and a $hp$-version DG method for spatial discretization. At the event of a mesh change a projection is carried out. Thus we can utilize grids which contain hanging nodes due to spatial $hp$-refinement or mesh change (see \cite{rannacher2010adaptive}) without the need for their elimination or the introduction of unwanted refinements. The resulting method is a space-time galerkin method which allows for obtaining a representation formula of the error in terms of a goal functional by employing a duality argument (see \cite{becker2001optimal}). We conclude the talk with numerical experiments in 3D. \bibliographystyle{plain} \begin{thebibliography}{10} \bibitem{becker2001optimal} {\sc R. Becker and R.
