From forums

Sales tax in my state went up by 1/2 of a percent to 5.5%>
To keep track of sales tax I would typically enter the total value in the register and then open the transaction editor to modify that amount by using the inline math feature. This worked fine for 5%, but there’s an error when using 5.5%.

For example

$100 / 1.05 = $95.24, actual cost of good
$4.76 appears to balance the split and this is assigned to Sales Tax

$100 / 1.055 = 0.4, and that is not right

Inline multiplication seems to work fine.

That's because "1.055" is mistakenly parsed as "1055": it takes the dot for a thousand separator.
