Hi. I work at the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau). Me and my colleague Jessica have a working group producing best practices for HTML5 ad creation. It is a technical document targeting ad creative designers making the transition from flash to HTML5. Part of the document explains what tools are out there to help with ad creation depending on if you are a designer or a developer. We want this to be a living/growing list as there are constantly new tools coming out. We are exploring different ways of doing this and your site came up as a suggestion. I would love to learn more about HTML5 Rocks to see if there is a way to collaborate on this.
I think there is space for a guideline document specifically for ad designer / developer. A huge part of this is being flexible on all the different browsers/devices you will work on.
If we can keep the discussion focused on the aspects that are unique to ads, while deferring to the 3rd party JS community for that and not really getting into "html5 content creation tools".. i think we could find a place for it. And we'd be happy to work with iAB on it.
cc @bencallahan who just spoke on this topic at CSSDevConf
I should also mention that we can integrate this into WebPlatform.org too. might be a better home. but our team would love to see this document out there. There are certainly plenty of things we know it should clearly communicate.
Moving forward, you could share your document now.. or the outline. and we can give feedback and help iterate.
I'd be happy to use this issues thread to go back and forth but if you want to upgrade to another collab platform we can do that. :)
@SabrinaIAB sounds great. Thanks for reaching out and looking forward to hearing more from you guys.
I'm a bit late to this conversation but would certainly be willing to review/provide feedback to this document. I'll keep my eyes peeled for updates here!
@SabrinaIAB hey guys, is this still being worked on?
Thanks for the update, some good links.
