Priority Levelling #270
Comments
Roberto / Will to (re-)circulate their proposals for priority groups and lists. |
Discussed in Zurich; decided to include weighted dependency tree approach (as proposed by Roberto). Martin to incorporate into next implementation draft. |
Osama's counter-proposal: http://www.w3.org/mid/f2d284792b50431685dc551141945bec@SN2PR03MB046.namprd03.prod.outlook.com |
I would question the "editor-ready" tag, since there are two proposals without a clear consensus. |
Discussed in London; going with the dependencies. |
846de1c for initial version. |
As discussed in Tokyo and later in Seattle. Proxies need to be able to level the priorities between multiple clients on a single back-end connection. May also be important to browsers with tabs.
Note that it's theoretically possible to accommodate this today because we have repriorisation, but it can be very chatty.
Possible solutions include priority grouping, trees or lists.
