I believe that Hypothesis’ potential could be exploited at its full if the service could be connected with other self-hosted Hypothesis instances and, above all, federate with other social networking platforms, such as Mastodon, by using the ActivityPub protocol.

I think integration with ActivityPub would fit with the project's goals, but we don't have any plans to work on it soon as we have other priorities this year.
