URL to a logfile as per http://i3wm.org/docs/debugging.html:

What I did:

the problem occurs when using Shotwell (v. 0.24.2) to edit single photos on my Lubuntu 16.04.1 machine.
Not always but often when i click on the "Adjust" button of a photo, the usual floating popup does not appear. Trying several times or switching into and out of fullscreen mode again somehow helps. The popup has no title and this does not happen with any other application that I use e.g. audacious.

What I saw:

I can see the outline of the popup shortly but then it disappears.

What I expected instead:

The popup should be visible on the screen.

I don’t see a link to logs.i3wm.org. Did you follow http://i3wm.org/docs/debugging.html? (In case you actually provided a link to a logfile, please ignore me.)

Quick look at the log file: there's a client that closes the window (and it's not i3). So I doubt that this is an i3 bug. We'll need to dig a bit deeper into it, though. Unfortunately the client closing it isn't a managed window and thus there's no information on it in the log.

@Airblader Thank you for looking into the matter, is there something else I can provide to help?

It'd probably be easier if I tried to reproduce the bug on my machine to debug. I just need to find the time to do so. :-(

For anyone also facing this, a simple click anywhere in the photo makes the Adjust window appear immediately :)
