Current Behavior

  • If I launch dmenu and close it, alacritty loses focus. The cursor becomes blank.
  • If I launch alacritty through dmenu and the mouse cursor is not on alacritty, the cursor on alacritty is blank. Alacritty doesn't have focus.
  • If I launch alacritty directly through a shortcut, bindsym $mod+Shift+Return exec --no-startup-id alacritty, it has focus even if the mouse cursor is not on it.

Expected Behavior

  • Alacritty should not lose focus if I open dmenu and close it
  • Alacritty should have focus if it's launched through dmenu.

Reproduction Instructions

  • Keep the focus on alacritty.
  • Open dmenu, and close it.
  • See that alacritty lost focus.

  • Open alacritty through dmenu_run
  • If the mouse cursor is not on alacritty when it's launched, alacritty doesn't have focus. The cursor is going to be blank.

Firefox is affected by this issue, too. Launch firefox through dmenu_run. You will see what I mean.
