Reefer management microservice

A simple reefer manager for the reference implemenation of IBM Event-driven architecture. This implementation is based on quarkus, reactive messaging and support the SAGA choerography demonstration, but potentially demonstrate RESTful apis to support SAGA with stateful process server.

Read more about the detail implementation on this site

Running the application in dev mode

Start the docker compose (docker-compose-dev.yaml) from the project: eda-saga-choreography

You can run your application in dev mode that enables live coding using:

./mvnw compile quarkus:dev

NOTE: Quarkus now ships with a Dev UI, which is available in dev mode only at http://localhost:8080/q/dev/. As Kafka is used for reactive messaging middleware, Quarkus dev starts RedPanda as Kafka Broker.

Packaging

./scripts/buildAll.sh

Event driven choerography

Exposing REST operations for external orchestration

To avoid duplicating the same code in different solution, this application includes 2 methods to support a SAGA managed by an external orchestrator like Red Hat PAM or IBM BPM.

The operations are processOrder and compensateOrder in the ReeferResource class. The class it.TestReeferResource presents the saga using the REST end points
