On Screen Keyboard

I need to load an on-screen keyboard on web apps (not hybrid apps). I can certainly teach users to load the on-screen keyboard using the operating system-specific command, but web apps are mostly used with a touchscreen (like a POS/CASHREGISTER app) and with the physical keyboard disconnected or out of reach.
Any help from JavaScript side?

There's a VirtualKeyboard API https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/VirtualKeyboard/show but it's only compatible with Chromium based browsers.
