DS1 connected - Art not showing up #156
Comments
Please ask him to help us troubleshoot it by rolling back to older builds to see where the issue started. He should just start from OPL 1337_DB (and etc.) and then just go back one at a time, until he finds that it starts to work. On the OPL Daily Builds thread at PS2-HOME we archive all the past BETA versions: http://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=3 |
This issue is rather related to the Ifcaro-builds! The OPL-DBs just happen to have the same issue, because they are based on it. Yes, I will tell him to do some tests, via other builds. |
To confirm, is that controller a DualShock, an old analog controller (before the DualShock function was added) or the digital pad? I remember that old versions of my software having problems with old PS controllers, but I forgot the details. I think it was a compatibility problem with the digital pad due to some missing configuration, but it was not related to the DualShock. |
It's an SCPH-1200! |
I don't know where to get art now... lol. I used to have some art for tests in 2015, but I already deleted it all. Anyway, I happen to have a SCPH-1200 and plugged it. Initialization of the pad seems to complete properly and I am able to scroll around the UI. Can he be sure that the pad is in working condition, with no buttons being stuck down? |
As far as I understood him, his first controller is a normal DS2 and he has the DS1 plugged to the second slot. As long as he keeps this DS1 plugged in it does not load Art, but it will load it right after him unplugging the DS1. Regarding ARTs... Well OPL Manager?! ;) They are already converted, so there is no HiRes-DB as of yet... :-| |
I couldn't reproduce this bug using both an old build (998 jayjay daily) and the very latest OPL ifcaro build (taken today 29/9/2019 - see https://www.psx-place.com/threads/automated-daily-build-system-for-opl-wle-fceumm-ps2.19382/). The issue may have temporarily crept in in the early 1000 builds and then fixed or the fault may be electrical (ie capacitors in the control pad maybe), or possibly limited to that specific model of PS2. By chance, I happened to have a SCPH-1200 , so retested this on my setup. I used a PS2 Slim 70002 (PAL), networked (to linux nas box), and a SCPH-1200 plugged into port 2, and an after market ps2 dual shock 2 clone in port 1.
Background and arts loaded fine. |
TnA-Plastic any progress or this issue cannot be reproduce? Thanks dekkit for tests. |
I will get the PS1-Controller in 2 days and give it a try. |
It took a week longer, but I have the controller here now. |
Is there any progress in this matter? |
I can't reproduce myself also this issue. I tested a PS1 controller of SCPH-1200 in the second slot an a original PS2 Dualshock in the first slot. Background and art loaded fine. Maybe there was a problem with some initial beta revisions with the PS1 controller, but the Maybe it was a malfunction problem for that user's PS1 controller. Considering that we are two users, me and dekkit, which works well for us and the time that Therefore, i consider this issue closed. Best regards. |
User @PS2-Retro-Boy found an issue!
If you have a DS1 connected, it will show themes but not game-art!
