I just tried this feature out, it looks good and I did not have a problem migrating to it, I was previously using the changes from http://www.candlerblog.com/2012/01/30/octopress-linked-list/

I think the only thing that is missing and would be nice is some commented out defaults for configuring the linklog feature in the _config.yml file.

@jcftang Thanks for trying it out and reporting back. Why would you want defaults to be commented out? I set defaults because I think it's nice to use a feature without having to run to settings. If people don't like the defaults they can change them. Did they mess something up for you?

@imathis actually, you are right, some un-commented out defaults in the _config.yml file would be nicer (and sensible). The defaults did not mess anything up for me at all. I just think it might be nice to have all octopress customiseable options to have defaults or examples in the config file for convenience and documentation, it's just my two cents to good documentation ;)

Thank you. Good feature.

Some suggestions.

  1. Permalinks doesn't shows in RSS feed http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1429433/noname.jpg
  2. Separate RSS feed for articles only.
  3. Twitter repeater. It shoud post links to permalinks instead title links. Feedburner, etc, made links to title url only. E.g. https://twitter.com/#!/daringfireball

The "linklog" feature is not working for me. The post title just links to the post. Here is my post yaml:

---
layout: post
title: "Nginx Primer"
date: 2012-10-04 09:41
comments: true
external-url: http://blog.martinfjordvald.com/2010/07/nginx-primer/
---

Last commit for my repo was:

commit bfbb8f32fb073b5eec466fd15062dd506cf2b22d
Author: Brandon Mathis <brandon@imathis.com>
Date: Mon Oct 1 07:28:30 2012 -0500

Using https instead of protocol relative urls, for Pinboard and Twitter feeds

Just set up linkposts at my blog, works great so far. I had no problems with updating except the ones that were my fault.
The only thing that I would change is that non-linklog posts also get a permalink in the feed entry. (See pull request #800).

If I'm not mistaken this hasn't made it to version 3. Reopen?
