Feature:

Would be great if we have more taxon photos to choose, CONABIO have around 71,799 ++ , all them have a water mark and copy right license (CONABIO/author).

mgaves 1795 eupherusa cyanophrys

Solution:

  1. Add a new tab "From CONABIO" into the pop window on /taxa/show view

eupherusa_cyanophrys_edit

  1. Create a new controller "conabio_controller" to set an API path /conabio/photo_fields and modify the respective files (.js, routes, etc)

  2. This tab could only be set on NaturaLista in case you guys don't wanna get the CONABIO source photos.

3 is important b/c while it's nice to have the option of photo providers like CONABIO, we'd prefer to support providers with no taxonomic or geographic restrictions by default. Also, are CONABIO images provided with open licenses like Creative Commons? And, why don't you guys just provide all your images to EOL?

yeah sure all the image have creative commons (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike), and usually every week we add more images on our data bank (http://bdi.conabio.gob.mx), but if we provide all our images to EOL we will need to wait for updates, similar things were happening with the taxon description.

Excellent. Then this sounds fine for me. It will be good to have photo providers configurable in the way we have taxon description providers. I'm sure future partners will be interested in similar functionality.
