Doing a fresh install on Rails 3.0.1 with jquery-rails 0.2.5. It installs jquery and jquery-ui and then goes for jQuery-UJS adapter and i get

fetching jQuery UJS adapter (github HEAD)
/opt/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect': SSL_connect returned=1    errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed   (OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError)

followed by a crap load more http errors and such

Sounds like github is having certain issues. Hopefully they'll get them sorted soon.

Erm, certificate issues

@Genkilabs

Bump. Same thing. Fresh Rails 3.0.0 with jquery-rails 0.2.5.
Tried without the --ui flag and same result. Looks like install won't run till the cert issue gets fixed.

There's a pull request that disables cert checking, but I don't want to release that. I'm too busy to fix it myself this week, but if one of you wants to update the pull request to include the CA certificates and use them, I will happily pull. I linked to an example of how I did it for the gist gem that you can copy in the pull request.

@assembler

for quickfix, add following lines to "environment.rb":

require 'openssl'
OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_PEER = OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_NONE

make sure that you remove those lines after you install jquery-rails

@benmoss

From the commits this should be fixed in 0.2.6 which just came out

The OpenSSL error is a Windows-only issue that I'm trying to get to the bottom of. I'll update when I know more.

@rbreve

I got /opt/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:586:in `connect': SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed (OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError) that error, and used @assembler's fix and now it works, thank you!

@perugini

Just to say that there's same error on MAC OSX.

Until your fix I'll use @assembler's tip, thx :)

@simoneau

I'm still seeing this in 0.2.6 on Windows 7.

@benmoss

theres a pull req that fixes it

@bbradbury

It's an issue on Centos 5.3, too.

@debprado

same error here, os x

@marfarma

+1 os x leopard

@jaylevitt

Despite being closed, this error is happening today on Snow Leopard. @assembler's fix worked.
