When you destroy the infinitescroll instance whilst in the callback, it doesn't fadeout the loading message/image. A workaround is to use setTimeout to destroy the instance.
Is it possible to swap it around so the callback is called after the loading message/image are hidden?

isn't there a public method to display the done message? if not, we could build that in with an optional parameter for the message?

The best solution is to just fade out the loading message in the destroy method.

I've added a call to the loading.finished method in the destroy method. This should take care of the removal of the message dialog and respect any custom behaviors.
