In ionic 2 with following ionic info.

Cordova CLI: 6.3.1
Gulp version: CLI version 1.2.2
Gulp local:
Ionic Framework Version: 2.0.0-rc.1
Ionic CLI Version: 2.1.0
Ionic App Lib Version: 2.0.0-beta.20
ios-deploy version: 1.8.6
ios-sim version: 5.0.8
OS: Mac OS X El Capitan
Node Version: v4.6.0
Xcode version: Xcode 8.0 Build version 8A218a

Step to reproduce
the scenario to reproduce is as follows.

  1. On sidemenu page, show a new modal (this modal is as part of pages of the sidemnu which set in app.component.ts or you can start with this template).
  2. On shown modal, push a new page.
  3. On shown page, show a new modal.
  4. On shown modal, push a new page.
  5. On shown new page, call this.navCtrl.remove(0, this.navCtrl.length() - 1).

Step 5 will erase all history stack, thus left only page in step 5.
It adds a burger menu after completely transitioned into it.

If you click on burger menu, it also shows the sidemenu but rendered in lower z-index thus you cannot see. But when you click on back button, you will see it shows now.

What I expect it to happen
I think it should not show burger menu button if back button is already there. The removal part is my intention to make user experience great as users have no need to see previous page.
