Ubuntu specific issue (?) maybe because of 'Unity'
When cursor does not hover a menu, GUI think that <underscore><letter> means that the <letter> should be underlined
so in the "All Magics.." Menu, some menu entry migth display wrongly, for example %load_ext might appear as %loadext with underline e.
The action works ok.
I put this issues here as a knowlege database, but I propose to flag it "won't fix" and close....
Yes, I can replicate that (I'm on Ubuntu as well). It could potentially be a bug with Unity, or with Qt.
If you've got a few minutes to spare, you could have a play around with different ways of escaping it, e.g. %load__ext or %load\_ext.
Personnally, I don't want to try to find a way of escaping the underscore that will works on every OS, and on every windows manager...
Still if you want me to try some way of escaping, I can tell you if it works on some os an windows manager I have around.
Note that on ubuntu 11.10 but with xfce+compiz (not unity) it looks fine. So it's definitely a unity thing, I propose we close this as it's probably beyond our ability to fix. At best, Qt might be able to do something about it, but more likely it's a bug in unity itself.
I haven't seen it anywhere but on ubuntu/unity.
I'm ok with closing. I tried to look for other bug report in Ubuntu
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomboy/+bug/755222 (same issue, 2 month old )
It might be fixed one day upstream, so I agree to close.
OK, great. Thanks for finding that; I've marked it as 'affects me'.
