Original Launchpad bug 511318:
Reported by: ellisonbg (Brian Granger).

As reported by Travis O., the StringTask won't in kernel.client doesn't allow unicode code strings. We need to fix this.

More generally, the entire IPython.kernel is not setup to allow unicode strings as arguments to methods like execute. We need to transition all of this to unicode.

We also need to make sure the new parallel stuff is unicode enabled.

Tagged minrk for new parallel code. If it's solved in newparallel, we can close it.

As far as my simple unicode tests, the newparallel code does appear to work fine, but I'll leave this open until I have more rigorous tests.

I'll add some official tests before closing, but I'm pretty sure there are no problems with unicode in newparallel
