I got supplied with a new FTP account which is not working with Cyberduck.
The very same account (server, user, pass, ...) works well using /usr/bin/ftp.

After that I took a look at my older connections (still bookmarked in Cyberduck) and all of them reply with "530 ..." although all of the accounts exist and are correct (concerning user/pass).
Affected are unencrypted FTP connections, FTP-SSL (explicit AUTH TSL) connections are still working.

Please paste both the transcript from the log drawer in the browser window and from the/usr/bin/ftp session.
