This is a coding challenge application I wrote for one of my earlier client. I didn't have time to AJAXfy the interface.
Try not to spend more than 3 or so hours on the challenge (i.e. keep it simple). If after 3 hours you haven't completed the application, just send us what you've written. This is more of an evaluation of your ability to write solid, elegant code as opposed to completing a task.
We would like you to develop a minimal URL shortening service. It doesn't need to be fancy, but should be functional, and ideally include decent test coverage (using the framework of your choice). Don't worry about database choice - SQLite is fine.
The service should: * Provide a view where anyone can enter in a URL and receive a shortened URL in return * Track how many times a URL is accessed, and the referrers it was accessed from
The service should not: * Have support for users signing up
