- Clone the repository git clone https://github.com/ivocreates/py-billing-app.git cd pyside-billing-app Create a virtual environment (optional but recommended)
python -m venv venv source venv/bin/activate # On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
Install dependencies
pip install -r requirements.txt
Set up the MySQL database
Login to MySQL and run:
CREATE DATABASE billing_app;
USE billing_app;
CREATE TABLE customers ( id INT AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, name VARCHAR(100), email VARCHAR(100), phone VARCHAR(20) );
CREATE TABLE bills ( id INT AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, customer_id INT, item TEXT, quantity INT, price DECIMAL(10,2), total DECIMAL(10,2), date TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, FOREIGN KEY (customer_id) REFERENCES customers(id) );
Update DB credentials in db.py
config = { 'user': 'root', 'password': 'yourpassword', 'host': 'localhost', 'database': 'billing_app' }
Run the app
python main.py
