# Org Hierarchy

The set of orgs that are used to develop and deploy a Salesforce system for a business unit or subsidiary. It typically consists of a Production org and one or more Sandboxes. All orgs in a hierarchy are persistent, and typically used for integration as well as user acceptance testing.
