I set up this task with every :reboot do. I do the task in crontab -l so all seems fine. But on reboot nothing happens. When I run the task manually it runs fine. Anybody any ideas? Can it have to do with the order in which services are started on reboot?

txs in advance

Are you sure that cron is running that task for the user that owns the crontab? IOW: read the manual for the cron version you are using and check:

  1. if the syntax is supported by your cron
  2. if the entry created by whenever is correct in your crontab
  3. if reboot jobs are executed for the owner of the crontab
