I have same problem. Catalina 10.15.2
|
|
This post suggested it's fixed in libvirt-python 5.10.0 - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1783796. |
Thank you, jerzhao) |
Thanks, jerzhao ! |
That did it. Thanks @jerzhao! |
For someone newbie as me :) As a workaround suggested by @jerzhao , file And Here is diff result:

I have same problem. Catalina 10.15.7 with the libvirt-python version 6.10.0
the full 07.pip is below:

I'm getting what looks like the same issue, @GJChen919. I'm on MacOS 10.15.7

Seems that using latest libvirt-python fixes the issue. As mentioned by @matrixzj, change the

@theranger Thanks for your replying. I changed libvirt-python to 6.10.0, and upgrade OSX to Big Sur
|
@GJChen919: I did a fresh reinstall on BigSur of virt-manager since that it is running again. |
Very Thanks! @timscha
and all is done! |
thx |
This is not a fix but a workaround for the seg-fault on creation is to manually kick off creation on the server: Then connect to the install using vrit-viewer to finish it out. Again this is not a fix but a workaround that gets things going. |
Need developer's help. I haven't tried to create new vm yet. |
@Miko2708 |
Using libvirt-python-6.10.0.tar.gz and installing cairo HEAD was enough to get everything working for me. I'm on an Intel Mac w/ Big Sur. I was able to use virt-manager to create/install a new Windows VM from ISO and virt-viewer to manage that install process. Thanks everyone for the incredibly useful info here! |
Using libvirt-python-6.10.0.tar.gz and WITHOUT installing cairo HEAD was enough for me. BTW, the sha256sum is 47a8e90d9f49bc0296d2817f6009e18dbb69844ce10b81c2a2672bccd6f49fd5. |
Ran into the same problem today, even with the libvirt-6.10.0 fix from above. MacOS: Catalina 10.15.7 Error with libvirt-6.10.0 LM-C02CW1YSML7H:~$ brew reinstall virt-manager

Hi!
Im using MacBook M1. Do you have any idea? |
I'm happy to confirm that this solution worked a treat in my case, thank you! |
As pointed out here jeffreywildman#142 (comment) virt-manager will not install. This corrects things.
virt-viewer installs without any issues, but 'brew install virt-manager' gives me:
Running brew with the verbose flag doesn't give me much more, other than:
Error: jeffreywildman/virt-manager/virt-manager 2.2.1 did not build
I'm running the Catalina 10.15.2.
Any ideas? Let me know if I can provide some more useful info.
