You can clone with
HTTPS or Subversion.
If post dates are entered with timezone jekyll converts them to local dates before generating. For example 2009-03-27T00:00:00+00:00 generates to /2009/03/26 in EDT.
I can see arguments for doing it this way (consistence to the reader) however I think it's more clear to the writer if it always matches the written date. If sticking with the status quo it probably needs test coverage.

@davidakachaos I think this is still an issue.
We recommend that everyone include a timezone offset in the post dates. This should correct the problem.
@parkr it doesn't always correct the problem but should make it less common. You'll still have the issue if your computers timezone (or server time) differs from the post timezone.
The time zone issue is old.
