URI year, month and day should be in the posts timezone not the local one #1125

@jpiasetz

If post dates are entered with timezone jekyll converts them to local dates before generating. For example 2009-03-27T00:00:00+00:00 generates to /2009/03/26 in EDT.

I can see arguments for doing it this way (consistence to the reader) however I think it's more clear to the writer if it always matches the written date. If sticking with the status quo it probably needs test coverage.

See #1090 for more details

#1090 is closed. Can this be closed too?

@jpiasetz

@davidakachaos I think this is still an issue.

We recommend that everyone include a timezone offset in the post dates. This should correct the problem.

@jpiasetz

@parkr it doesn't always correct the problem but should make it less common. You'll still have the issue if your computers timezone (or server time) differs from the post timezone.

@penibelst

The time zone issue is old.

Agreed – it's been handled.
