Pretty URL not working for post in starter template #2329

Installed the new starter template, and out of the box pretty urls are enabled. It works for "About" but clicking on "Welcome to Jekyll" results in a "jekyll/update/2014/05/08/welcome-to-jekyll.html" path with the ".html" appended.

Any ideas?

What does your _config.yml look like?

Lines 192 to 193 in 0008808

when :pretty

I haven't changed anything from the default _config.yml - just left it as it was out of the box ($ jekyll new project):

# Site settings
name: Dat site title tho
title: Your awesome title
email: your-email@domain.com
description: "Write an awesome description for your new site here. You can edit this line in _config.yml. It will appear in your document head meta (for Google search results) and in your feed.xml site description."
baseurl: ""
url: "http://yourdomain.com"

# Build settings
markdown: kramdown
permalinks: pretty

Hi, It seems that there is a typo because AFAIK the tag is permalink and the default option is permalink: date so your URL will be like that. You can can remove the "s" and it will work as intended. We will fix this.

Ah! Fantastic, works now. Thanks for that! Congrats on the release - loving it.
