[Issue]: Playlists out of order when casting

Please describe your bug

When casting, if I select a playlist to play, it plays in the wrong order.

I have playlists consisting of tracks from multiple albums. They might look like this:

• all 10 tracks from album 1
• all 20 tracks from album 2
• all 5 tracks from album 3
• etc.

So that playlist would have 35 tracks. It should properly play all the album 1 tracks, then all the album 2 tracks, then all the album 3 tracks. It does do this when navigating to the playlist in jellycli.

But, when navigating to the playlist in Jellyfin and then casting it to jellycli to play, it will play in this rough order:

• The last track from album 1 (sometimes)
• Track 1 from every album
• Track 2 from every album

I have observed this issue when:

• Using the Jellyfin android app to control a Desktop (Jellyfin Web UI) instance - reporting here
• Using Jellyfin web UI to control mopidy - reported at Weirdness with Playlists mopidy-jellyfin#133
• Using Jellyfin web UI to control jellycli - reported at When casting and playing playlist, plays in the wrong order tryffel/jellycli#41

After observing this using only official Jellyfin tools, I'm wondering if this issue is within Jellyfin itself, rather than the 3rd-party clients. At least the problem with casting the playlist from Jellyfin to Jellyfin is!

Everything works perfectly when not casting.

Here are some screenshots from a test playlist with only 2 albums in it.

Also, I've never had any shuffle option on and confirmed shuffle was off everywhere.

I also found a report to reddit from February, experiencing these same symptoms, on Jellyfin 10.7.7.

A further note - I believe that the ordering that I am seeing when casting is based on the sortName, from viewing the output. Consider here are the sortnames I saw in this one, in order:

• 0001 - 0001 - Donegal Danny
• 0001 - 0001 - The Arranmore Celtic Song
• 0001 - 0002 - Creach Ar Mo Chroí
• 0001 - 0002 - The Jersey Bull
• 0001 - 0003 - Close of an Irish Day
• 0001 - 0003 - Lady Marie
• 0001 - 0004 - Homecoming
• 0001 - 0004 - The Wabash Cannonball
• 0001 - 0005 - Maggie
• 0001 - 0005 - The Dunmore East Disaster

When casting whole albums, it only seems ok -> The file names are numbered. But when playing your own mix, the name isn't sorted, you get a wrong order. (My confirmation of @jgoerzen theory)

The results differ depending on the way you start the stream:
When you start it from the list of playlists (-> outside of the playlist itself) or the play button on top of the playlist it is send as one ItemId (->Playlist):
http://jellyfin:8096/Sessions/abc/Playing?ItemIds=xyz&PlayCommand=PlayNow

But when you start it from inside of the playlist by clicking on the first item, an array of all list items (individual songs) is send:
http://jellyfin:8096/Sessions/abc/Playing?ItemIds=xxx%2Cyyy%2Czzz...&PlayCommand=PlayNow&StartIndex=0

Only in the second case the sort order is maintained.
--> A smart frontend could create a workaround by always sending all items

Some further detail:

On smaller playlists, clicking "Play Now" on the first item in the playlist will cause it to be played in order when casting to a remote Jellyfin.

However, on larger playlists, that does nothing at all; it seems there is a limit to how many can be in that sort of list. Therefore, there is no present way to properly cast a large playlist.
