Since I write prose with many dialogues, I very often need a line break. Because each respond starts in a new line. In Markdown I make two space characters and press Shift + Enter. There my line break works fine. But the outcome in DITA-OT 2.4.5 with FOP and Markdown plugin 1.3.0 shows no linebreak. Everything is pulled together to a paragraph.

Thank you, best regards, Andreas.

The main issue is that DITA doesn't have any structure for a line break. Thus line breaks in Markdown cannot be retained. However, a processing instruction can be used to mark line breaks and use that for round tripping.
