[JENKINS-1362] Test Results Trend Graph does not display ignored tests on Project Page #13906

Closed

Description

@jenkins-infra-bot

When I open the project page, "Test Results Trend" graph shows tests in blue and
failed tests in red, but it does not show ignored tests.

If I hit the link to the Module in the project, the "Test Result Trend" on the
Module page shows the ignored tests in yellow.

The "Test Result Trend" graphs seem to be identical except for the ignored test
information, so I think the graph on the Project page should show the ignored
tests in yellow as well.

Note: All the projects I'm using are Maven based (v2.0.8), and I'm using JUnit 4.4.

Assigning to me. It was me that added the yellow part to the graph to support TestNG skipped tests. I probably missed out something that has resulted in this discrepancy.

I'll take a look at this this evening.

That would be great - I wasn't really sure if this was a bug or not (it sounds like it may be an enhancement).

Anyway, displaying the ignored tests really helps in my workflow.

I write test methods as I think of what I want to test and annotate them as ignored. Then I can go back and implement them. It works better for me than a notepad of todo's or commenting out the tests - it's much easier for me to find which tests I have yet to implement.

Kudos on the feature - it may seem really minor to some, but it is very helpful for me.

I had neglected to over-ride the getSkipCount() method in AggregatedTestResultAction, which meant it inherited the base class implementation (which simply returns zero for backwards compatibility). This means that the number of skipped tests plotted on the graph was always zero.

I have fixed that in the latest CVS version (ready for build 1.189).

Since I don't have a setup similar to yours, could you report back whether it is working OK for you now? You can either grab the latest CVS version or wait until Kohsuke releases 1.189.
