Further experimentation has led me to believe issue #519 and issue #520 may be the same.
When adding paint selection to the same surface or thing, in visual mode, the selection stacks. Actions such as raising/lowering things, and panning textures, will multiply(i.e. a thing with two added selections will be raised twice 16 units instead of 8 when scrolling up one tick).
When a thing/surface is deselected, it shows as deselected(No flashing indicator; "Nothing selected." shown in statusbar), but actions such as raising/lowering things, and panning textures, will still be applied as if the things/surfaces were still selected.
The exception seems to be if one clears selection(Default key: C).
