This is a simple bug work around for a problem I encountered trying to use gitit on Windows with a mercurial back end. I implemented it as part of the checkVersion function, detecting the os using System.Info and then forcing filestore to use the non-server version. You may have an idea for a better way or place to do this as I have no previous Haskell experience.

Is there any reason why this request hasn't yet been pulled yet? We still have the same problem on windows and this patch really allow mercurial users to have a solution that at least works. Here's a recently merged fork I was forced to create based on this pull request:
