Edit with login edits top page

Restarted my browser and seem to have an odd cookie state or something 
similar.
  * Viewing a subpage shows I'm logged in in the upper right corner
  * Clicking the edit tab goes to the login screen; URL indicates the 
proper sub-page target
  * After login credentials applied, get to the Edit window for the Top 
page instead of the sub-page intended.
  * Discard there and return to intended sub-page, but Edit tab repeats 
the above.

Cannot find relevant cookies in my browser's cookie manager to provide 
more details, sorry.
