Currently we use single quotes however we need to use double quotes for the environment variable to be read correctly

Currently, we use single quotes, however we need to use double quotes for the environment variable to be read correctly. With the current 5.3.0 version we end up setting the password to the literal string $PASSWORD, not the value of the environment variable
