What's new in this release

Enhancements

  • Support for HP-UX and IBM AIX. Please see the per-platform README files for information on how to build pam_hbac for these platforms. This work was kindly contributed by João Saraiva.
  • A build-time --disable-ssl option that lets you build pam_hbac for platforms where pam_hbac shouldn't even try to establish a secure channel. The default for this option is --enable-ssl.
  • A build time --enable-man-pages. This option is enabled by default, but when disabled (--disable-man-pages), pam_hbac doesn't even attempt to render man pages during build. This is useful on platforms where the a2x utility does something else than pam_hbac expects.

Notable bug fixes

  • pam_hbac no longer fails if one of the numerical group IDs the user is a member of cannot be translated to a group name

Supported platforms

pam_hbac 1.2 supports the following operating systems and releases:

  • Linux
    • we tested pam_hbac on Fedora, Ubuntu, RHEL-5 and RHEL-6
  • FreeBSD

  • Solaris
    • tested on Oracle Solaris 11 and Omnios LTS (r151014). Our users tested this release on Solaris 10 as well.
