### Tox Protocol Plugin For Pidgin / libpurple
### Tox Protocol Plugin For Pidgin / libpurple - discontinued
Please visit http://tox.dhs.org/ for general information and build instructions.
Sorry everyone, but I will not continue this project any further. I am using
one of the available Tox clients with audio and video support and since I
do not need the Pidgin tox plugin myself I won't spend any time on it.
I'll leave this repo around in case someone wants to fork and continue, but I
disabled issues and basically I won't be taking care of this code any more.

@je-vv @TomDataworks Would either of you be interested in contributing to a fork to make this functional with the new toxcore?

From what I gather, all that's currently needed is mainlining a patch from Gentoo.

I will provide a PR, probably later Today. However it's not my code, and it's not official gentoo, though I didn't see anything tricky, but needs to be reviewed any ways... As for a fork to keep tox-prpl alive, I'm really not qualified for that...

@je-vv Well jin-eld looks to be dropping this repo, so I doubt if you submit a PR it would get mainlined, so the only alternatives are to either fork it, or let it die. The only two options.

Really sorry, guys, but I have other hobbies, I don't do much coding in my spare time any more. Don't be sad, just pick it up, fork it and continue ;)

Sadly, I won't be able to devote any significant amount of time into this. This is for a number of reasons. One, I've gotten a bit busier over the past several months. Two, I never really got much more than basic text chatting working. Three, it's a constant moving target to keep up with. Finally, and most importantly for me, I never really got any Tox contacts. Vast majority of contacts are on IRC now.

This doesn't mean I won't occasionally see what I can do, but it's just not something I can prioritize.
