I encountered the following exception on a few machines (Win XP) using the latest jline:

"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.fusesource.jansi.internal.Kernel32"

Some research showed that some Microsoft DLL could not be found or loaded, don't really understand it, but here is a link to it with references:

Basically installing the library from this URL fixed it

I'll ping Hiram about this, not sure what the full requirements are for windows jansi support.

This is true. To get full JANSI support on winxp you need to installed the vs 8 redistributable.

Is there away around this without having the consumer directly installing the above dll?
