Please see the Pull request from Hydra at vanhauser-thc/thc-hydra#198 for a discussion of this patch.

Basically, a buffer overrun in some debug code shared between Medusa and Hydra caused questionable behavior. This was corrected in Hydra and I made similar changes to Medusa's code. The code in this pull request is untested in Medusa as I cannot get it to compile in my environment, but it should still work.
