by writing &lt; i get the < right there instead. I mean on the left side, not the markdown output.

Might be a bug if not feature.

Whoa, bizarre. I reproduced in Firefox as well. This is not Dillinger
specific, but the Ace editor, which dillinger uses. I do need to update
the version of Ace I am using so maybe it has been fixed since then...
