Wiki last update 6/10/2024

Introduction

When I started this repository I was totally new to CBUS®. So this project is aimed at beginners, who may also want to use this Layout Control Bus protocol for their layouts. It is not endorsed by MERG, or the CBUS copywrite holder Dr Mike Bolton. This is just my opinions on my learning experience only. This has only been made possible thanks to the work of a number of MERG members who have answered many of my questions raised on the groups forum. They have also made the libraries available for the sketches to work.

The Wiki is a good tool for documenting this project. The home page will just have important information I feel necessary only.

Objectives for this project.

  • To show how you could use CBUS® protocol by hard coding the Arduino units.
  • Or using the MERG CBUS way of using the FCU for teaching the units how to react to events on the Can bus.

The various pages will show the various steps I have taken since starting this project in 2024.

YouTube Channel

The project has its own YouTube Arduino CBUS Playlist within my YouTube account.

  • While some of these videos may have small mistakes in them, they should help people to understand the various stages I have taken in my journey.

Latest update

  • While I have created various repositories for CBUS I am now bringing some of these back into this one.
  • I have also update 4 of the hard coded examples as they had become broken by a library change.
