I have the same problem as posted in the link above. I have a pre and post install file and as it stands now, I have to duplicate some shared methods that are used in those pre/post install scripts because I have no way to create a shared file to source them from. Is it possible to add new files to the control.tar.gz which would be available for sourcing? It seems debian supports it.

Sort-of duplicate of my ticket #595 (Support for Debian trigger files)

Not sure if anyone will see this.

This feature isn't working for me (I know, 1.5 years later i'm finally trying to use it.)

I add the --deb-meta-file arg and the file does not get put into the control.tar.gz in the debian package.
