Git Workflow

Building

  • make build Build the application
  • make install Install the application in the application directory
  • make clean Clean the build directory

Features

  • Read specified files and count lines that contain a query string
  • Support for Linux and UNIX-like operating systems
  • Output total count to the console
  • Output individual file counts with verbose option

Requirements

  • Requires the stat.h header (POSIX) and the C++ standard library

Usage


Command Line Usage

  • From the command line run searchcounter [required: -p/--paths paths] [required:-q/--query query string] [optional: -v/--verbose ]
