vfsstat is a particularly handy tool to show of SmartOS features but does not Just Work in an LX branded zone.

  • Being interpreted, it uses the lx perl instead of the native one (first on the path)
  • adjusting the perl path fails because of calls to /sbin/zonename
  • chrooting /native runs into the lack of /bin/sh and zoneadm: could not get user name
