I have just tested the new RC1 release and the problem I have with the swipe event and focus stil exists in this release too.
Some time ago I have posted some more details in the JQM forum, so you can find everything regarding this issue here:
Please let me know, if you need some more information.
@saress could you provide a test page using the latest build with jsbin or jsfiddle to illustrate?
Templates: http://jsfiddle.net/enxXQ/ or http://jsbin.com/acoruj/edit#html
sorry for the delay, here is the link to the demo:
You should test it via iPad/iPhone. If you click the button, you will get the possibility to choose the value.
If you slide left you have to click inside the select menu by yourself.
Hope this helps to find the problem.
I had the chance to test this issue on 3 different generations of iPad (V1, V2 and test newest V3) and it works only on iPad 1 (Version 5.0.1 - 9A405). V2 and V3 shows the same behaviour as described above.
Hope this information is useful for you.
I am having the same issue with this. A click event pulls down a drawer from the top and automatically focuses the first form field. I also have a swipe event that does the same thing and this does not autofocus the first form field. Any help with this would be appreciated. I have also researched this and there isn't anything out there on this bug. -Chris
This won't work without JQM either because you can't dynamically open a select menu by setting focus to it. I have seen posts about achieving this by manipulating the size attribute of the select, but not sure if that would work.
Closing because this is not a JQM issue.
I am using JQM as the framework for this web app that I'm developing. With the click event it automatically pulls up the native selector wheel of keyboard. The swipe event to do the same thing doesn't trigger the keyboard or selector wheel.
