The scenario is s follows:

  1. append/prepend an element to the navbar list
  2. triggering a 'create', does not re adjust the layout but styles the element as normal button
  3. triggering a 'refresh' doest not re adjust the layout accordingly nor style the added elment, Edit:: no refresh with this

The navbar widget doesn't include a refresh method. Not sure why .trigger("create") doesn't work.

Moving to 1.4

Damn, I'm on 1.3.0 and I just need that refresh() method. Calling refresh on the parent( footer in my case) is also not working, the two buttons in the navbar are below each other and the enhancements never happen. Any ideas of how to solve this?

I am thinking of creating a dummy page with the desired navbars on it (inside the app, never show it to anyone), and after JQM enhanced the contents of that page, then copy them into place when and where I need them.

Triggering the create event has been deprecated but dynamically adding navbar buttons should become possible. Closing as duplicate of #6337.
