I have made a test with JSbin to help you to research this bug.
the page http://jsbin.com/uqided/1
with android 4.0.3 has no problem.
The same page with android 2.3.5 ( galaxy s )
doesn't render the string
if i put the phone horizontally ( and ONLY if the string is shorter than the width of the screen )
the page is displayed as you can see
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF I NOT USE THE JQM 1.2 rc-1 but the last source
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/latest/jquery.mobile.css" />
( as http://jsbin.com/welcome/25043 ) the bug is not present.
So the bug in the subject is already founded and debugged but i'm waiting the next release to put the updated JQM in my phonegap app.
All I see is a very long word, no code. Can you put it in our JSBin template? See link to template in our Contributing Guidelines. Thanks!
JSBin for this issue.
I have tried on galaxy ACE Android 2.3.7 320x480 resolution and works perfect in portrait and landscape mode. Also emulated in 480x800 in Chrome and works fine there.
Perhaps you had mal-formed HTML as looking at your code I had to close a couple of tags to make it valid.
Have a look at the above JSBin on your phone and see if it's still occuring?
Thanks for the update.
The issue was the navbar, not the verylongwordwithoutwhitespaces. Has been fixed indeed.
Closing as fixed by commit 446fed7.
