RIght now warbler seems to just ignore all java_annotations, but the jruby compiler supports it.

Can you provide an example?

Here's a hive udf I was trying to write:

java_package "com.foo.hive.udf"
java_import org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.Description
java_import org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.UDF

java_annotation 'Description(name = "foo", value = "_FUNC_(string) - just returns test.")'
class Foo < UDF
  def evaluate ts

But I might be mistaken, I'm no longer sure if jrubyc supports it either.

really a JRuby issue (that should be fixed by now - there's still a java_signature being dropped issue).
