Hi,

Some of my fiddles are getting 404 pages. One other person I know is also getting 404's on theirs too.

Do fiddles get deleted after a certain time period?

Scott

Almost all of my newer ones (last couple of weeks) are also gone. Older ones are still there.

https://jsfiddle.net/smolinari/5y6rbn9u/ <- from @smolinari , gets 404

Fiddles are never removed unless they're spam, scam, have private or copyrighted material – in all cases they'll be deleted without prior notice.

As to the aforementioned fiddles, they're not in our database, it does look like they were removed, but definitely not by anyone on the team.

It is odd that both fiddles with the same slug are missing. Will have to investigate further, but since we're not soft-deleting (keeping the fiddles with a deleted_at flag), it'll be hard to pinpoint what happened to the fiddles and when they were removed.

I found the problem. Fiddles from the original fiddle author are incorrectly linked to each other while removing. So whoever created a fiddle that has been updated by someone else, can remove his fiddle and every other update (by a different user).

Will fix.

Fix applied, unfortunately it won't change relation of fiddle retroactively, only from today onwards.

As to the deleted fiddle, there's no trace of it and when the original author deleted it, so all revisions are gone.

Hope this is not a huge setback.

Glad to see that a critical issue was discovered and fixed quickly, though.
